My name is Brother Ujima ("oo-jee-ma") and I went to Defiance College with Ruby (when she had the big afro), where I was the local DJ. She was a bundle of fun and was fortunate to have been able to correspond with her years later and rekindle our friendship. My fondest memory of her is her love for "Step Into My World", a song by a group from my neigbboring community, and my dedicating it to her on the radio, as well as the kind words she communicated to me after we finally reunited. She was always a warm person and I am so sorry to hear of her loss! She will be missed!

I worked with Ruby at Ruskin School. She was a friend. She was always kind and loving. I would sometimes get to see her at our monthly Ruskin luncheons. I will miss that.
I am so sorry for your loss. Ruby had a loving heart and a lot more to give to this world.
