Yvonne Renee Winn-Franklin “Nay-Nay” was born on January 4, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Richard and Dorothy (Coats) Winn. Yvonne fought a long hard battle for many years until the Lord called her home on October 9, 2025.
Yvonne was a 1975 graduate of Colonel White H.S. She had a 30 plus year career in the Federal Government (Defense Electronics Supply Center and Defense Supply Center Columbus), retiring in 2008.
Yvonne believed in the Lord and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She loved spending time with family and friends, where everyone would meet at her house to play spades and share laughs. She was often referred to as the “historian” of the family. Family could go to her to inquire about past events, and she would quickly recall them and share the stories.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her loving and devoting husband, J’Henderson Franklin; brother, Clarence Winn Sr; sister, Doris Hullaby.
Yvonne passes on her love and precious memories to her devoted daughter, Tanesha Winn; grandson, Savion Pinault; brothers, Richard (Ammie G) Winn Jr., Mark (Diane) Winn, Jermaine Winn Sr.; sisters, Zollie Sweet, Deborah Smith, Janice Greenlee, Brenda Lewis, Selena Cox, Carolyn Brandy, Susan Winn. As well as one uncle, two aunts, nieces, nephews, and a host of other close family members and friends, including special friend Joanne Middlebrook-Allen.
