William Lee Bogan Jr.

William Lee Bogan Jr., age 57, of Dayton, Ohio departed this life Saturday, March 7, 2026.

William was born on August 9, 1968 in Dayton, Ohio to Rececca Bogan-McGuire and William Lee Bogan Sr.  He was born and raised in Dayton where he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the community that knew him well.

William was truly one of a kind.  He loved sports and was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan.  He enjoyed playing chess, spending time with his family and hanging out with friends.  He graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1986. William served 4 years in the United States Marine Crops.

William was a proud father and grandfather who deeply loved his family.

William was preceded in death by his children, Sean Harris, Shanika Bogan, Shantae Duncan and a loving first cousin, Jeffrey Holt.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories 2 sons, William J. Bogan and Sean Bogan; mother, Rebecca McGuire (Danny); father, William Bogan Sr. (Priscilla); loving brothers, Jerry A. Bogan and James McGuire; sisters, Diane Ferguson, Faye Smith (Terry), Vonda L. George, Bianca Stallworth, Nicol Prather, Adrian McKinney; grandchildren, Zachariah Bogan, Harper Bogan, Jamarion Williams, Shane Ivy, and Lynnix Bogan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends including the love of his life was Tracie Harris and a very special friend who was like a brother, Clifford Holt (Lorna).

Those who knew him will remember his unique personality and the lasting impression he left on everyone he met.  He was a very dedicated employee of Waffle House. 

William’s memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the love he shared with those around him.

Funeral Service 11 am Monday, March 23, 2026 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment Preble Memory Gardens.
