Warnetta Jackson was born on May 7, 1950, in Jackson, Kentucky, to Brownie and Geneva Wilson.
She was a proud graduate of John H. Patterson Cooperative High School, Class of 1968, where she co-oped at Duriron. She went on to give generously of her time as a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital and was later employed at Sears & Roebuck.
Warnetta was a woman of strength and quiet endurance. After a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with colon cancer, she was called home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love she had poured into others her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brownie and Geneva Wilson of Dayton, Ohio, and her brother-in-law, Augustine Polk of Maryland.
Warnetta leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 56 years, Robert A. Jackson; son, Robert D. Jackson (Lori); daughter, Lanetta G. Tyus (Timothy); bonus daughter, Patty Monge; brother, Brownie Wilson (Marsha); sister, Jan R. Polk; grandchildren, Israel and Isaiah Jackson, Dadrion Tyus; bonus granddaughter, Isabella Quiroz; along with a host of other close family and friends who were blessed to know her.
Funeral Service 11 am Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Faith Temple PCOG, 1350 Kumler Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment 10 am Monday, June 29, 2026 at Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
