Walter C Sheppheard Sr. (Hank), was born January 14, 1950 to the late Wallace Sr. and Viola Sheppheard, he departed this life May 14, 2024.
Hank attended Jefferson High School where he received medals for track, basketball and football. Hank served in the United States Marine Corps where he was honorably discharged in 1970. Hank then joined the most influential militant black organization which protected black citizens from police brutality called the Black Panthers. Hank was self-employed as a mechanic for over 40 years, but his ride or die passion for life was riding his motorcycles.
He precedes in death his son, Frederick Sheppheard; brothers, George, Wallace Jr., Joseph, Nathaniel, Frank, Jesse, James, Irvin, and Lee Sheppheard.
He leaves to cherish a devoted wife, Pamela Sheppheard; a daughter, Charlene (Aaron) Hawkins; sons, Walter (Johniece) Higgins, Jetton Boykin; brother, Earl Sheppheard; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren with 2 expected; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service 12 pm Thursday May 30, 2024, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave, Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 12 pm. Family to receive friends 11 am- 12 pm. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
