Vivian Adams-Fletcher Obituary

MRS. VIVIAN LORETTA ADAMS-FLETCHER, age 81, was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 2, 1941, to the proud parents Ferdinand Flood Butler and Jessie May Butler Coleman. She departed this world peacefully on November 18, 2022.

Vivian has always been full of life and she never gave up, especially if it’s something she wanted. She graduated from Taft High School. During her high school years, she was a part of Student Council and the Glee Club (Choir). During her senior year she was the only black female to run for Queens Court for the football team. Many people stated she should have won, despite proudly receiving second place. She was honored even though she won second place. She received a lot of love and support from black and white peers. She later went to college and became an Assistant Physical Therapist.

Vivian loved to be with her friends and family. She was a party girl at heart. She loves to have fun, play cards, and different games. She also loved good food. She was an avid bingo player often referring to herself as the “Bingo Queen”. She always took pride in her home and appearance, and she love to travel.

She is proceeded in death by her beautiful and loving daughter, Valerie “Star” Adams-Daniel; stepdaughter Kelli Jones; Goddaughter Malena Neal; sister Mary “Mickey” Franklin- Hughes; first husband James Adams; her loving and devoted husband Charles R. Fletcher; 3 brothers and parents.

In mourning her passing she leaves her grandchildren, Jauntee’ (Randall) McGriff, Ranishia (Richard) Benton, Nakeisha (Vinson I) Barry, Ashli Jones-Canada, David Jones Sr., Ebony L Easterling and Lavern Watts II. She also leaves 21 beautiful Great-Grandchildren and one more on the way. Her daughter by heart Deanna Ndir; her loyal and loving sister and best friend for over 40 years, Alma Turner; her loving niece Maurita Jenkins, whom she spoke to daily at 7:00 p.m. Devoted niece Freida Butler, who helped care for her during her final days. A host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved her.
