Velora Jean Johnson, born August 27, 1935, gained her wings January 17, 2021. She was a loving sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and so much more to many others. She dedicated many years to the Dayton Public Schools as a Teacher's Aide. She was also a member of the El Amigo's Social Club in her early years.
She loved playing games with her family, but Pokenno was her favorite. One thing she loved more than anything was her family and keeping us together. Through the years of heartache of losing family members as well as her two sons, Donald “Donnie” Johnson and Beotice “Spank” Johnson, she still managed to maintain her love for life.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Rhonda King; sons, Ronald (Shannon) Johnson and David Johnson; brother, Jeffrey Heflin Sr.; daughter-in-law, Robin Johnson; grandchildren, Neila, Jorrell, India, Kenitha, Octavia, Donna, Andrew, Lil Ronnie, Aja, Deja, Robin, Edward, Shauna, Shelly; 36 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends she loved.
You are finally at peace and with the ones you missed most of all. Your legacy will live on forever and you will truly be missed.
Private graveside service.
** A celebration of her life will be at a later date. Due to the pandemic we will not be having a repass at this time.**
