Terry L. Lane Jr.

Terry L. Lane Jr. was born on February 21, 1943 in Butler Springs, AL to the late Willie Mae Carter and Rev. Terry Lee Lane Sr. He transitioned from earth to eternity on Friday March 20, 2026.

Terry was a graduate of Ullman High School in Birmingham, AL. He retired after 40 years in Civil Service, and an Army Veteran.

Terry joined Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church over 30 years ago, he was faithful in service and was ordained a deacon. He loved to sing and was a dedicated choir member of the Men’s choir and the Senior choir. After transitioning to Ohio, he attended Apostolic House of Prayer, Inc. where he would sing a medley of hymns.

He was loved by the neighborhood children. He provided clothes and food for many; he had a firework display every year for the neighborhood.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois F. Lane; the mother of his children, Alice Marie Lane; daughter, Willie Mae; son, Terrance Lane; three brothers, Quinton, Terrance, and MacArthur.

Terry leaves to cherish his life, his children, Victor(Deborah)Lane of Warren, OH, Faith(James)Watkins of Hopkinsville, KY, Dr. Peter(Pamela)Lane of Huber Heights, OH, Holly Sutton of McDonough, GA, Michelle(Donnie)Dillard of Atlanta, GA, Marcy Lane of  Hopkinsville, KY, Nikcole Flemming of Flint, MI, Alexander Lane of Louisville, KY, Hope Jones of Hopkinsville, KY, Jason Lane of Clarksville, TN; brothers, Fred(Pearlie Mae)Lane of Montgomery, AL, Timothy(Deanna)Lane of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Theresa(Shawn) Pickering of Powder Springs, GA; special aunts, Johnnie Hale and Arzell Smith of Birmingham, AL; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service 12 pm Friday, March 27, 2026 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 12 pm. Family will receive friends 11 am- 12 pm. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
