Teddy E. Burrell (Hollywood), age 75, peacefully transitioned to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on July 22,1949 in Dayton, OH to the late Roosevelt and Betty Mae Burrell.
Teddy attended the Dayton Public School System and graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1968. He retired from the General Motor Delphi Automotive Systems.
Teddy loved roller skating, traveling and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed going to the cassino.
Teddy got the nick name of “Hollywood” because he was a sharp dresser and when he dressed, he was coordinated from head to toe. He looked like a model out of Esquire Magazine
Teddy was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Corey E. Smith; and one sister, Rositta Mae Burrell.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Alonna M. Smith of Dayton, OH; one son, Tyson Henderson of Columbus, OH; 5 grandchildren, Eric “Jody” Demmings, Erica Simmons, Patricia Thaler, Corrie and Sydney Smith, all of Dayton, OH; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Lois (Butch) Williams, Dayton, OH, Lacinda (Mike) Taylor, Portsmouth, OH, Carlotta (Frank) Webb, Sarasota, Florida; one brother, Roosevelt Burrell III, Dayton, OH; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members and special friends.
Funeral service 12 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave, Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 12 pm. Family will receive friends 11 am- 12 pm.
