Tarik Morgan Sr. Obituary

Tarik Akil Morgan Sr. was born January 30,1976 at Wright-Patt Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio. He was the only child of Bennie, Jr. and Sharyn Morgan.

In the fall of 1993, Tarik and Aesha K. Lee became the proud parents of a baby boy, Tarik Akil Morgan, Jr. He went on to graduate from Meadowdale High School in 1994.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Tarik enlisted in the United States Military. He was an Air Force Reservist. He completed training in Texas and was later stationed at WPAFB, OH.

After serving his time, he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and became an employee of Proctor & Gamble. He worked as a technician in their snacks research and development lab. Two perks of the job he enjoyed were being able to take Pringle chips home and he enjoyed his coworkers.

In the winter of 2004, he once again became a proud father. This time it was a baby girl, Ximen Yessena Jehawn Morgan. Tarik and Jenica Dowell were over the moon.

In 2014 Tarik made a career change. He became interested in computer information systems.  He earned his CompTIA A+ IT professional certification. He also enrolled in Per Scholas Institute of Technology and graduated. He wasn’t satisfied and wanted more education. In January of 2021 he attended and graduated from Kable Academy. For the last several years he was employed as an IT support technician and enjoyed what he did.

To his surprise he became a Paw Paw on January 23, 2023. Tarik, Jr. and his girlfriend Jai’lynn Holliday welcomed their bundle of joy, Azai Nasi Morgan.

Tarik loved his family deeply. Even after moving to Cincinnati, he would go to his grandparent’s home in Dayton to cut their lawn when he got off  work. He was adored as a son, admired as a supportive figure for his cousins, valued as a father and grandfather to his children and grandchild, and will always and forever be treasured by Jenica Dowell. His love and dedication to family and friends will be missed and cherished.

He was preceded in death by father, Bennie Morgan, Jr.; grandparents, Bennie, Sr. and Priscilla Morgan; grandfather, Sam Smith, Sr.; aunt, Vivian L. Allen; uncle, Herbert Morgan.

Tarik leaves to mourn his loss, his loving partner of 25 years, Jenica Yessena Montgomery Dowell; children, Tarik Morgan, Jr. & Ximen Yessena Jehawn Morgan; grandson, Azai Nasi Morgan; loving mother, Sharyn Morgan; grandmother, Lucille Smith; step mother, Lavera Ford; aunts, Shelia Smith-Rose (Steven) and Robin Morgan; uncles, Sam Smith, Jr. (Tina), Dave Morgan, Michael Morgan, Sr. and Anothny Morgan; special cousins, Brandon Smith and Ashley Smith-Jones, James Mario Allen, III , Latavia and Tron Morgan; brother from another mother, Lee Travoy Briggs; special people in his life, E.Yessene and Jane Dowell; as well as a host of loving family and cherished friends.
