Tamara Ann McCathron

Tamara Doran McCathron, age 63, of Dayton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 14, 1960, to the late Richard Doran Sr. and Helen Young. She met the love of her life and companion, William L. McCathron from Dayton, Ohio. They celebrated 40 years together.  

Tamara, affectionately known as “Tammy”, graduated from Woodward High School, class of 1979. She was employed as a Day Care Provider throughout Dayton, Ohio. Tammy was a devoted member of Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church. Tammy was a devoted wife to William and very dependable mother / grandmother. She loves being with family and friends. She loved her some Betty Boop and tattoos.

Preceded in death by her parents; spouse, William L. McCathron; sister, Bridgett Doran.

Tammy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Amanda (Sherman) Biggs, Becky (Nathiel) Hall, Saretta Goodwin, Chauncey Ross, Wilma Twitty, Terrell Goodwin, Carmin Elijah; grandchildren, Andrienco McCathron, Suncerea McCathron, Thalia Thompson, Lachristal Cash, Timarion Boykin, Nicola Biggs, Daniel Biggs, Sherman Biggs Jr., Alex Biggs and Asia Biggs; great grandchildren, De’Arko, Di’Allo, Samauriye, Bryce Jr., Tay’Jan, Andrienco II, Isabella, Chrishawn, Micheala and Si’Isla;  a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, stepchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service 11 am Friday, April 28, 2023, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family to receive friends 10 am- 11 am. (Mask Required). Reverend Dr. Candy Hardy officiating.
