Tamara N. Jackson

Tamara Nicole Jackson, age 39, born May 10, 1981 in Dayton, Ohio to Frances “Joyce” Jackson and Roderick “Rodie” Rowan, departed this earth August 10, 2020 in Dayton, Ohio.

“Sweetheart” is the word most often used to describe Tamara. She was a lover of people.  She loved her family, her friends, her patients, and she spent much of her life showing her love through taking care of people. Most of all, Tamara loved her children – La’Quan and Paris. She focused most of her life on their care, their education, and making sure they were surrounded by people who were good to them.

Tamara was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce; her brother, Von Jackson; her paternal grandparents, Josie Rowan Clarke and Maceo Clarke, Jr.; and loving “bonus” mother, Margaret Shorter.

Left to keep Tamara’s memory alive are her life partner, Adam Shorter; sons, La’Quan Jackson and Paris Shorter; stepchildren, Diona, Little Adam, Kyra, Jaheim, Sincere; siblings, Natalie and RJ; aunts, Toi (Jay), Marcy, Patricia; grandmother, Cleo; and cousins, Aaron and Cherie; a host of other family and friends.

Public Walk-through visitation will be held 9:00-11:00 am Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Followed by a private family memorial service. Interment West Memory Gardens.
