Steven Colbert Vestal, age 68, of Dayton, OH, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to Ruth Kidd Vestal. Steven attended Fairview High School, and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp, from 1973-1979. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal. Steven also completed courses at Sinclair Community College in 1982. He held a diverse work history, but no position was more loved than that of Sr. Marketing Director at Miami Industrial Trucks. He retired from Miami Industrial Trucks in August 2017.
Steven married the love of his life on March 17, 1976. Born to this union were three beautiful children, two daughters and one son, Londell, Stephen and Kalana. Nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren. He was known for “rounding” up his “babies” to spend the weekend. He was baptized in Jesus Name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1987 at Bethesda Temple. In 2000 he became a member of the Higher Dimension Prophetic Ministries, pastored by Bishop Jerome C. Chambers. He loved his Bishop and church family.
Steven AKA Rosco P. Coltrane was an avid CB operator and was known far and wide. He will be greatly missed and can never be replaced. He always ended any CB conversation with, “May God’s grace always surround your entire place…I’ll see you, bye.”
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth K. Vestal and his sister, Azelean (Jean) Hopkins.
Steven leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Tami; daughter, Londell (Anthony) Miliner; son, Stephen (Regina) Vestal and daughter, Kalana Vestal; grandchildren, Moriah Atkins, David Colter IV, Chase Miliner, Antoneo Miliner, Marq Harris Vestal, Kamari Vestal, Cannon Wilson, Baylin Drake; great grandchildren, Nyla Atkins, Aubrey Atkins, Wise Vance, David Colter V., Cruz Colter and Daisy Colter; sister, Julie Ann Vestal; sister-in-law, Traci Johnson; brother-in-law, Tod Johnson (Annie); and loving mother-in-law, Shirley Johnson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
