Sobra Jean Buchanan was born on February 12, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio to Willie James Buchanan Sr. and Eula Mae Carr. In August of this year, 2025, Sobra was diagnosed with a terminal illness. She fought a good fight, but unfortunately, she succumbed to the illness on September 17, 2025.
Sobra Jean Buchanan exuded bravery, loyalty, determination, and a light-hearted comedic demeanor. She was a dedicated woman of faith who accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1978 at the age of 20. Sobra was a dedicated mother who pushed boundaries to provide for her daughters, relying on God to help her make a way. She was in service to others throughout her life, making a point to assist those in need.
At the end of her life, Sobra was surrounded by her dedicated and loving daughters. She departed this life wrapped in love, sharing special moments and laughs with her family and friends. We give special thanks to all who took time to visit, call, and text our beloved mother in her final days of life. We appreciate all the support and outpouring of love.
