Shirley A. Medley was born Shirley Ann Hamilton on September 21, 1949 to loving parents Erma L. Hamilton (Coffield) and T. Roosevelt Hamilton Jr. in Dayton, Ohio. She went on to be with the Lord Sunday, April 14, 2024.
Mrs. Medley is a graduate of Jefferson Township High School. She attended Central State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She attended The University of Dayton where she obtained a Master’s Degree also in Education.
Mrs. Medley worked as an Educator at Meadowdale Elementary for the duration of her professional career, spanning 35.41 years. She always included the .41 years.
Mrs. Medley was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Central State Alumni, and former Girl Scout Troop Leader and Volunteer. Children were her passion.
Mrs. Medley is proceeded in death by her parents, Mr. T. Roosevelt Hamilton and Mrs. Erma L. Hamilton; her husband Ronald K. Medley. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Ann L. Medley; grand-pups, Cody Michelle Medley and Kyle Maxine Medley; 2 aunts Gladys Joseph and Bonnie Coffield; 1 sister Bonita (Michael) Rooths; 1 sister-in-law Harriet (Santonio) Chambers; special cousin Wanda F. Gunn; special niece Wanda (Richard) Egbujor; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral service 12:30 pm Monday, April 22, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 5370 Dayton Liberty Road, Dayton, OH. Omega Omega service 11 am- 11:30 am. Visitation 11:30 am- 12:30 pm at which time family will receive friends. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
