Shirley Tequita Holland (Houston), age 72, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. Born in Dayton, Ohio, to Herbert Houston and Myrtis Bell, Shirley lived a life filled with love, joy, and quiet strength.
Shirley dedicated her life to service, compassion, and the pursuit of understanding. She spent many years working as a cook at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Shirley was a quiet but kind individual.
Shirley was a woman driven by love for her family. She found joy in seeing her loved ones happy. Shirley was the true definition of unconditional love.
Shirley Holland, was married to the late Ronald Holland for 55 years. They both leave behind their three children—Myrtis Stone, Ronald (Deborah) Holland, and Selyna Holland. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and seven siblings—Leonard L Houston S , Lonnie B Houston SR, Glenda C Phillips, Larry D Houston SR, Lloyd J Houston SR, Lamon S Houston SR, Leslie W Houston SR and a Half sister Darlene shepherds/Skipper.
A private gathering was held with close family to honor Shirley’s life and legacy.
She will be remembered for her soft-spoken voice, gentle spirit, kindness, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
