Shawnta Monique Lynae Locklin

Shawnta Monique Lynae Locklin, age 34, departed this life Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Shawnta was born on June 18, 1988 in Dayton, Ohio.  She enjoyed dancing and playing the lottery and was adamant that she was a singer.  She loved spending time with her fur baby, Brownie; but most of all spending time with her son, Camarion, and family. She was a loving and caring, no-nonsense individual but no matter what she was a true woman of God.  She may have lost her battle with cancer, but she won her place in Heaven where she will never experience another battle with her health.

She was proceeded in death by her mother; Tonya E Locklin; father, Slyvanius Cook Sr.; grandmother, Beatrice Locklin; brother, Eugene; best friend, Stephonna Harris; niece, Tonya Locklin.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Camarion; 2 sisters, Latosha Furlow, and Lavonda; 3 brothers. Slyvell, Tavion Furlow and Daniel; Shawnta also had additional stepbrothers and sisters on her father’s side of the family; uncle, Charles; great aunt, Mary Foster; God sister, Latonja Seldon; fiancé, Chandler Craig; host of nieces and nephews; special friends; Germanick Harding, Jasmine Figgers, Ranisha Jones, Jerry, Mookie and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday May 1st at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. (Mask Required). Minister Tammy McGhee officiating. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery.
