With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the family of Sharon Rhea Jones announce the passing of our kind, brave, caring and unimaginably generous mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend on September 1st, 2024. Sharon will be remembered as independent, strong, active, resourceful, and forever known for her trademark spunk, even until the end.
An identical twin, Sharon was born May 29th, 1957 to George and Gloria Andrews in Dayton Ohio. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Michael, baby sister Tina and father George. She leaves a legacy of love and compassion through her daughters Nicole (Charles) Black and Jasmine (Durelle) Fields. She was the best and most loving Grandmother to Anthony Jr., Noah, Caleb, Christian, Devin, Tyler, Seven and Great Grandbaby Zeek. Sharon was a beloved sister to Greg (Yana) Andrews, Marcia (Will) Wright, Sheila (Kevin) Clark and Duane (Dianna) Andrews. Those who loved her includes a host of many aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. Her love spanned across many generations without prejudice.
Sharon was an exemplary mother, grandmother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. She loved on people with hugs, kisses and smiles. She called them often, she sent cards on special occasions, she checked in frequently and she genuinely cared. She invested in the lives of those around her; that selflessness will never be forgotten.
A woman of faith and the heart of her family, Sharon shaped their spirituality by her tireless example of serving God. She loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, and she loved Gods Word. Through her valiant fight with cancer, her faith never wavered and she taught those around her what it looks like to live bravely and always with a smile. She embodied courage and resilience; even through pain and discomfort, she was more concerned about the well-being of those around her instead of her own. Though she was a humble, gentle woman, Sharon was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and continual impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and the world at large. Although she will be deeply missed, we find strength and solace in knowing that she finished her earthly assignment well.
