Sharon Cosby Obituary

Sharon Deloris Cosby went home to be with our Lord on October 22, 2024, in Trotwood, Ohio. Born on January 27, 1962, in Birmingham, Alabama. Sharon was a proud graduate of high school leading her to Central State University. Sharon was not just a mother and friend; she was the heartbeat of her family, a radiant spirit whose love for family, friends, and life itself left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

As the cherished mother of Antwon Cosby, Sharon poured her heart and soul into raising her son, instilling in him the values of love, kindness, and resilience. Antwon, with his boundless affection for his mother, often reflected on the countless memories they shared—each one a testament to her unwavering support and encouragement. Together, they created a tapestry of beautiful moments, laughter, and lessons that will forever guide Antwon as he carries her spirit forward. Her love extended to her three beautiful grandchildren: Ka’leya Alstark, Na’layna Cosby, and Kyleigh Phibbs. Sharon reveled in the joy of being a grandmother, showering them with affection, delicious meals, and inspiring them with her zest for life.

Sharon was known for her exceptional cooking that brought family and friends together and had a particular love for favorite snack, Church’s chicken bombers. Her laughter and warm-hearted spirit lit up every room, making her the life of the party. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, whether it was over a meal or celebrating life’s milestones.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lucille Cosby; Grand mother, Mary Wagner. Her brother, Eugene Cosby; and her sister, Joyce Cosby.

Sharon is survived by her brother, James Cosby (Tonia Harris); brother-in-law, Terry (Patty Turner); and her special niece, Lakeisha Cosby. She is also remembered by her niece and nephews, Jay Blake-Harris, Tyson-Michelle Patrick, and Lashay Ivory; along with her great niece, Marie Smith, and great nephew, Andre Smith.

Sharon's shared many precious moments with close friends; Vernon Lamb, Connie, Jeff Copeland, Jackie, Faye, and Ms. P. Special people including; Tiffany Thorton, Jessica Scott, Ope and the children.

In her final years, Sharon received exceptional care from retired Dr. Nicholas Christoff, who went above and beyond for her kidney care, as well as Dr. Siva and the dedicated Davita dialysis team on Linden Ave. Their compassionate support made her journey a little easier and filled her days with love.

Sharon Deloris Cosby was a remarkable woman whose legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward, cherishing the lessons she taught and the love she shared. As we celebrate her life, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and strive to honor her legacy by living with the same warmth and spirit that she embodied.
