Ruth Marie Martin, affectionately known as Rudy, was born on March 8, 1946, in Dayton Ohio, to the late Joseph Martin Sr. and Ruth Martin. She transitioned peacefully and went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2025.
Rudy attended Stivers High School. She later found joy working at Dee's Clothing Store, a job she loved dearly and eventually retired from General Motors.
Rudy accepted Christ at an early age and was formerly a member of First Church of God, now known as New Vision.
Rudy had a passion for fashion and loved to present herself at her best, always matching from head to toe.
She was preceded in death by her sister GeorgeAnna Thompson, her brothers Fred and Gerald Martin, and her beloved niece Latonda Thompson.
She is survived by her one and only child, Shareef- Barry Martin, her beloved brother Joseph Martin II (Rita), and her three cherished grandchildren: Baryn, Bella, and Mecca Martin. Rudy also leaves behind a grand host of nieces and nephews, Angie Moore, Marci Hines, LaRita Lattimore, Sonchi- Sandra Holmes, Elise Thompson, Jason Martin (Tisea), Terence Rogers, and Duan Thompson, with special mentions to her beloved niece Djuana Looper, & beloved nephew
Joseph "Bookie" Martin Ill (Stephanie). Additionally, she leaves behind a host of cousins, bonus sons Scott Belyeu, Juan Norvell, Mark Martin, and Tony Brown, Bonus Daughters Kim Rice, Dionne McDole, Carmen Crawford, & Kerrie Chaneyand special friends and loved ones Elma Williams, Eunice Mallory, Tonya Bray, Judy Philpot, Arlene Mason, and Diane Dotson.
To know Rudy, was to love her. And her legacy of love, faith, and impeccable style will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral service 11 am Saturday, January 11, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am.
