Rondel Lanier Marsh

Rondel Lanier Marsh (also known as Diesel), age 49, of Englewood, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Rondel was born on July 8, 1976 in Detroit Michigan to the late Robert and Gloria Marsh.

He grew up in Detroit, where he attended Henry Ford High School and enjoyed playing basketball and football.  He earned a full athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Louisville. In 2004 Rondel married Jeanine and they shared 27 years together.

Rondel spent much of his career working with people with disabilities at Stillwater Center where he built special friendships with Shelly Brown, LaDeidra Allen, and Joe Stephenson. Outside of work, he enjoyed watching sports. Rondel was a University of Michigan, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers fan. Friends and family remember him for his beautiful smile, loyalty, and his devotion to family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents; sister, Bereatha Cole; brother, Robert Marsh Jr.

Rondel is survived by wife, Janine Marsh; son, Ryan Marsh; daughter, Kayla Marsh; sisters, Erica (Moon) Dillard and Tiffany Wright; brothers-in-law, Gary (Beverly) Akbar, Malik (Kenya) Akbar, David Akbar; father and mother-in law, Gary and Jeanne Akbar.

Celebration of Life 12 pm Monday, May 11 ,2026 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 12 pm. Family will receive friends 11 am- 12 pm.
