Mr. Rodney K. Lewis, age 71, was born February 15, 1953 in Dayton, OH, to the late Florence M. Lewis and Cortez T. Lewis. Rodney transitioned from this life Saturday, August 31, 2024.
Rodney graduated from Jefferson Township High School class of 1971. He attended ITT Technical School in Toledo, OH. Rodney worked numerous jobs as machinist up until jobs health failed him.
Rodney was a very devoted family man. Loving and caring for each and every one of them. Rodney was very kind, loving, compassionate as well as generous man. He never met a stranger, and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. Rodney dedicated his life to Christ at an early age, then he rededicated his life as an adult. Rodney was a faithful supporter of Summit Christian Church especially to the Women’s Ministry. Rodney was a true fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
Rodney is preceded in death by parents; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his 4 children, Yvonne (Irvin) Wood, Roderick L. Lewis, Rodney L. Lewis (Nicole), and Audra Suarez (Valentin); brother, Charles R. Martin; 2 devoted and loving sisters, Lorraine L. Patton and Cathy Lewis; devoted niece, Florence (Lisa) Morgan; 13 grandchildren, Monique & Danzel Johnson, Ivory Richardson, Ra’Neisha, Sha’Tasha, La’Tasha Lewis, Isaac & Isaiah Garrett, Aaron & Serenity Lewis, Ca’Prezja Williams, Ve’Shawn, Chavelle, Shawndel & Kingston Champion; numerous great grandchildren; loving in-laws, Rosalind Williams, Gwendolyn (Tom) Heflin, Robert, Jan (Janet), Lawrence (Kathy), Darryl (Lisa); lifelong friends, Lynn Gray, Harvey Quigg, Victor Alexander, and Larry Hutchinson (JTL); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rodney will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service 11 am Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Summit Christian Church, 4021 Denlinger Rd, Trotwood, Ohio. Visitation 10 am at which time family will receive friends. Rev. Michelle L. Dixon, officiant. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
