Roberta ‘Bert’ Harrison, age 82, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend made her peaceful transition on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, OH to be with the Lord. Roberta was born in Sharpsburg, KY on January 2, 1943 to the late James and Mattie Lee Ralls. She accepted Christ at the age of twelve at the High Street Christian Church in Mt. Sterling, KY.
Roberta attended public school and was a graduate from DuBois High School, Mt. Sterling, KY in 1961. After graduation, she relocated to Dayton, OH. She was employed at Miami Valley Hospital and Moraine Assembly Plant, a subsidiary of General Motors in Dayton, OH and retired in 1993.
Roberta was a longtime member and faithful servant of Shiloh Baptist Church in Dayton, OH for 59 dedicated years. She was steadfast to her mission in Christ, service to God, and mankind as a participant of the Nurse’s Aide, Usher Board, and Pastor’s Aide auxiliaries for many years. She actively served as the lead Pastor’s Aide until her passing.
Roberta cherished both her grandsons dearly and loved spending quality time with them. She enjoyed attending NBA games to watch her grandson referee. She also enjoyed spending time with family and assisting with planning family reunions which included being on the committee where she served as Treasurer. Roberta was a passionate bingo player and loved to play for fun. She loved to shop as well as eat good food. Roberta was always asked to make her famous ‘Corn Pudding’ for events. No one could make it like her!!!
Roberta had an infectious smile and a heart of gold. She made everyone feel like family that she encountered throughout her life. She was a true champion of character and value.
Roberta leaves to cherish her memories her pride and joy, one and only devoted son, Jeffrey Ralls, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Denise Ralls of Abingdon, MD; two grandsons: Jeffrey Ralls, Jr. of Austin, TX and Jamähl Ralls, Sr. of Abingdon, MD; two great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Ralls and Jamähl Ralls, Jr.; sisters: Sara Botts (James) of Mt. Sterling, KY; Rosetta Stewart of Clay City, KY; Tawana Webb of Dayton, OH, and Frances Mitchell of Winchester, KY; brother: Lawrence Flowers of Dayton, OH; special relative: oldest living uncle John Botts of Mt. Sterling, KY, close friends: Sandra Oldham and Cynthia Wilcox of Dayton, OH, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband: Robert Harrison; parents: James and Mattie Lee Ralls; and brothers: Edward Ralls and Kevin Webb. Roberta will be deeply missed!
Funeral service 11 am Monday, June 30, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
