Richard Lee Wall of Dayton, Ohio was born to Edward “Snag” Rice, Sr. and Lesta Lee (Wall) Jackson on May 29, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio. He departed this life on March 1, 2025.
While in the United States Air Force, Richard obtained his high school diploma as well as several trades certificates.
After serving in the Air Force, Richard worked several jobs, including the position of wine salesman at Heidelberg Distributing Company, a career that lasted 45 years until his retirement in 2014.
Richard, affectionately known to family and friends as Dick, was a sharp dresser and loved his cars. He always kept his weekly hair appointments and even entered a Superfly contest and won!
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Rice, Sr. and Lesta Lee (Wall) Jackson, stepfather Harry Jackson, daughter Monica Pickney, sister Margret Rice, and brothers, Donald Wall, Edward “Butch” Rice, Jr. and William Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory and forever in his heart his daughters: Angie (Maurice) Edwards, Lisa Tolliver, LaTasha (Derrall) Philson, Ashley Wall and Dawanda Reeder; loving and devoted niece Khristi Elmore; sisters: loving and devoted Linda J. Willingham, Tajauna Crawford, and Saundra (Victor) Brooks; brothers: Larry Jackson, Chris Jackson and Leonard Barrett; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a very devoted and loving friend, Denise Adkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Dick, you will truly be missed. Rest in Heaven.
Funeral service 11 am Friday, March 14, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 10 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment 9 am Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Dayton National Cemetery.
