Raymond Redd, Sr., passed away peacefully September 21, 2020, with the love of his life, Yolanda, at his side. Raymond was born November 23, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William and Lillian (Sumner) Redd. He was a 1958 graduate of Dunbar HS, and served proudly in the US Army. Following his discharge, he went to work at Delco Products and retired from Delphi as a Supervisor in 2001 after 38 years.
An avid sportsman, he spent his summers fishing and trap shooting and could always be found walking the trap line or competing at the Ohio State Trap Shooting Championship and the Grand American.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Helen, Martha, Lynn, and son, Raymond, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Yolanda (Smith); sister, Francine; brother, James; daughter, Rhonda; son, Ronnie; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces who considered Uncle Ray a father figure and role model.
Our family appreciates the care he received at Hospice of Dayton in his final days. He will be buried at the Dayton National Cemetery in a private, family service.
