Raymond Alves Jr.

Raymond Alves Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12^th, 2022. He was born April 9^th,1944 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. A graduate of Dunbar High School, Dayton Ohio. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army and a 36-year retired employee of General Motors.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Perryman Alves, and father, Raymond Alves Sr.; sister, Dolores Smith; brother, Donald Alves; son, Durrell Alves.

He leaves to cherish his memory son, Glenn Alves (Carla); daughter, Sharon Alves Screetch Gage (Talis); adopted son, Shawn Screetch (Tracey); brothers, Ronald Alves and Dr. Loren Alves (Phyllis); sister, Barbarra Baccus;  grandchildren, Portia Alves Reed (Mario), Wesley Alves, Xavier Montaie, Logan Green (Dominique) and MarQuis Green; 9 Great-grandchildren; Marli Reed, Chamari Reed, Mariah Reed, Royle Davis, Yvonne Green, Levi Green, Olyvia Green, Isabel Green, and Ivy Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and family members.

The family of Raymond Alves Jr. would like to thank Maria Joseph Living Care Center and Hospice of Dayton for the care of our loving father and family member. To the House of Wheat Funeral Home for the care of our father’s arrangements and final services. 

Visitation 10 am- 12 noon Tuesday, November 22, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc. 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton Oh. Family will receive friends 11 am-12 noon. Funeral service at 12 noon. (Mask Required).
