Pearl Frazier Obituary

Mrs. Pearl L. Johnson Frazier, age 85, born October 17,1935 in Huntsville, Alabama, departed this life peacefully September 23, 2021 with her family by her side. She was the only daughter of six children born to the late William and Blanche Johnson.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age at St. James Primitive Baptist Church in Huntsville. After moving to Dayton, Ohio, she became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for a number of years, and in the early 1970's she joined, with her husband, Revelation Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Board, the Nurses Guild and Deaconess Board. She was a devoted member until the progression of her illness. 

She graduated from Council High School in Huntsville, Alabama and attended Alabama A&M University, Sawyer Business School in Dayton, Ohio and graduated from the Dayton School of Practical Nursing.

She worked at Miami Valley Hospital as a surgical technician. Following graduation from nursing school, she worked at and retired from Grandview Hospital, and went on to work at and retire from Linden Health Care Center in 1993.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passion was caring for others as demonstrated by her chosen profession, a licensed nurse. She loved visiting her neighbors and visiting the sick and shut-in. She loved her church family, reading, bowling, watching boxing and basketball, and teaching CPR and visiting her family in Huntsville. 

She met and married Rufus Frazier, Sr. in Dayton, and to this union were born one daughter and three sons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all of her siblings including her twin brother.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Janice; sons, Rufus Jr., Roderick Sr., of Dayton, and Dale Frazier (Robin) of Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren,Terrion Frazier Sr., Michael Whitaker (Charise), Ralesha Williams (Keith), Stasha Frazier, Dominic Smallwood (Jessica), LaShonda Frazier, Roderick Frazier Jr.; loving aunt, Jonnie Taylor; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 1 pm Wednesday, September 29, at Revelation M. B. Church, 1496 Swinger Dr. Visitation 11 am-1 pm. (Mask Required and Social Distancing). Interment West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
