Pamela Dotson, age 64, of Dayton OH, departed this earth Tuesday, February 25, 2025.Pamela was a beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and devotion to family touched all who knew her.
Pamela was a proud graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of 1978. She furthered her education at Ohio State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree, and later obtained her Master’s Degree from Central State University. Her career was dedicated to public service, having served Montgomery County, and later retiring from the City of Dayton, serving in the Water Department and Street Maintenance with diligence and commitment.
A faithful and active member of Omega Baptist Church, Pamela found joy in her Biblical Explorers Sunday School Class and small group studies, cherishing the fellowship and spiritual growth they provided.
Pamela was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ada Blackwell and Lawrence Buchanan, her brother Loren Todd Blackwell, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted brothers Donald (Angelina) Dotson, Roger & Vernon Brown, David Brown, Christopher Davis, and David Ferguson; her beloved sisters Gwendolyn Buchanan and LaWanda Clement; and her nieces Alexis Dotson, Jovan, KeAnna, Courtney (Joshua), Daja, Michael, Cassionna, and Christopher Jr.. She will also be lovingly remembered by a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Pamela’s presence was a gift to all who knew her. She shared special friendships with Monique Oliver and Richey, and shared a special bond with her beloved cousin, Tony Dotson.
A woman of many talents and passions, Pamela was gifted in photography, capturing the beauty of life through her lens. She loved to bake, sew, and craft thoughtful gifts that carried deep meaning. Her love for genealogy and family history was evident in the way she preserved and honored her family’s legacy. She had a heart for travel, always seeking new experiences while cherishing moments spent with those she loved. Above all, she was selfless—putting others before herself, embodying kindness, and radiating a gentle and loving spirit.
Our sweet Pamela’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She was truly one of a kind, and her legacy of love, generosity, and faith will continue to inspire us all.
Funeral service 11 am Friday, March 7, 2025 at Omega Baptist Church, 1821 Emerson Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
