Ola "Kay" Thomas

THOMAS, Ola “Kay”, born 1930 in Kiblah, Arkansas, returned to the safety and care of her Lord, surrounded by her daughters, Sunday, January 6, 2019. Kay lived in the Westwood neighborhood with her husband, Sargent Leroy A. Thomas Jr. (USAF). Kay's spiritual home was Upshaw AME Church where she was a member for over 40 years. She retired from DIMCOGRAY Company in Centerville after over 20 years of service. Kay was known for her gentle, serene countenance and she had a servant's heart towards everyone. Preceded in death by her parents, Ella Simington and Hiawatha Turner; husband of 65 years, Leroy A. Thomas, Jr.; son, Michael; grandson, Ryan Richards; one sister. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Karen Lynn, Diane Elizabeth; 3 grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, special nieces, great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, good friends and neighbors. Visitation 5-7 pm Monday, January 14, at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., at which time family will receive friends. Funeral service 10:15 am Tuesday, January 15, at Upshaw AME Church, 256 Shoop Ave. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
