In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Nina Cooper, who departed this life at home on 05/24/2025, at the age of 86.
A cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children, James Jr., Rona (Marty), and Kunita (James), and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love and pride.
She was preceded in death by her precious mother, Edna Vick, and her steadfast husband, James Cooper Sr., both of whom she now meets again in glory.
Known throughout the city of Dayton for her powerful Gospel vocals, Nina inspired and uplifted many with her gift of song. She was not limited to one genre of music, and earned the admiration of many with her Karaoke talents winning several local contests. Her love of music shone through in every note she sang.
In her later years, she was cared for by her devoted companion and faithful caregiver, Ronald Swiatek.
Her children honor her desire not to have a service.
Nina will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her musical gift, and her fierce love and protection for her family.
