Nearetta Elizabeth Lee, age 91, of Dayton Ohio, entered Heaven on May 22, 2025 the same way she lived her life; with courage, dignity and grace and surrounded by her family.
Nearetta was born in Gainesville, Florida on December 6, 1933 to Elizabeth Williams Dixson and Neal Dixson, Sr. She was married to Lester King Lee. Nearetta attended elementary school in Gainesville, Florida and Lexa, Arkansas. She later attended Central State University, Xenia, Ohio. She worked for the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center until her retirement, October 1, 1995.
Nearetta brought joy, happiness and love into the lives of everyone she met. She was a loving, caring Mom, Mema, Sister, Tee, Auntie and Friend. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye! She was known and loved for her card playing antics. She loved fishing and family gatherings where she could cook. Her house was a revolving door for neighborhood children who loved her ice pops. When she would visit her sister, Ruth, in New Jersey they would always refer to Nearetta as the “Fun Sister.” She never met a stranger.
Nearetta was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Williams Dixson; father, Neal Dixson Sr.; grandmother, Henrietta Dixson; sister, Claranell Dixson; brothers, Neal Dixson, Jr., Eddie Dixson, Sr., Ernest Lee Henry, and Walter Jackson; son, Michael Lee; daughters, Barbara Frantz and Tammy Nash.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Ruth Stewart, Neptune, NJ; daughters, Angela Day (Jeffrey), Yjathene (DeDe) Williams, Dayton, OH; sons, Kerry Lee, Los Angeles, CA, Antonio (Tony) Lee (Angela), Columbus, OH; sisters-in-law, Annette Dixson, Macon, GA and Carol Dixson, Neptune, NJ; grandchildren, Jahzerah, Tavon, Cody, Brittany, Jordan, Morgan, Christian, Keira, Tony, Tori, Arnelle, Kyle, Terrance, Travis, Tayalia, Tonesha and Thron; 28 great-grandchildren; bonus daughters, Debbie Guy, DeeDee Howard and Brianna Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We will always hear her saying “Love You More".
