Nathaniel “Nate” Alexander Jr., age 79, was born in Dayton, OH, on November 13,1945. He passed away on Wednesday August 13,2025.
Nathaniel was always an entertainer since childhood. Nate won his first talent show at the age of 12 years old. Nate was well known for singing and fashion. Nate sang for groups such as The Jaguars, Nate and The Typicals, The Gyft, and The Different Shades of Brown (Motown). Nate’s love for fashion and music made him known throughout the music industry. Nate attended Roosevelt High School, where his love of music began.
Nate was proceeded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Laura Alexander.
He is survived by his devoted loving wife, Frances Alexander; two sons, Von and Damon Alexander; five daughters, Zelma Hopkins, Georgette McGinnis, Chanda McGinnis, Vincentia Stewart, and Shantay Ward; four sisters, Ethel Alexander, Barbara Broomfield, Patricia Straight, Pastor/Evangelist Cynthia Davis. Nate was loved by numerous grandkids and great grandkids; special great-grandchild, Peaches; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Jimmy Bogan of Ann Arbor, MI; special thanks to John Boatwright, Angela Lyons and Shawn Herron.
Graveside Service 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at West Memory Gardens, 6722 Hemple Rd., Moraine, OH. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
