Minnie Lee Howard

MINNIE L. HOWARD, age 96, of Dayton, Ohio, peacefully departed this life Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton. Born in Opelika, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Ada Pearl Knight and Edgar L. Walton.

Minnie loved going to church and was a member of the Mattie Talbert Circle at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she had many cherished friendships.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gaston Howard, Sr.; sisters, Princella Lewis, and Lula Fair; brothers-in-law, Cornelius, Cleophus, Joseph and William Howard and Asberry Smith; sisters-in-law Luella English, Bernice Sims, and Tena Howard.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Gaston Howard, Jr.; daughters, Wanda Howard of Dayton, Ohio, Gloria Hawkins of Altamont Springs, Florida, and Diane (Eddie) Waters of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Jenice "Candy" Dunson of Dayton, Ohio and sister-in-law Sumothia "Pat" Howard of Springfield, Ohio; a host of other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service 12 pm Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3375 Siebenthaler Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
