Minnie Ruth Dunson

Minnie Ruth Dunson born December 15, 1937 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Colbert Smith Sr. and Eva Mae Poole Smith. Minnie departed this life Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Minnie was a faithful member of Corinthian Baptist Church. Minnie’s work history includes, McCall Magazine, seasonal gift wrapper at Metropolitan and Elder Beerman department stores. She later retired from New Dimensions in Medicine (NDM).

She is preceded in death by her parents; devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Ruben Addis Dunson, Sr.; sisters, Hazel Smith, Grace Longino, Emma Harris, and Delphine Smith; brother, Colbert Smith, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Victor Elliot Dunson, and Ruben Addis Dunson Jr.; sisters, Ruby Mitchell, Annette Boykin, and Djuana (Stanley) Freeland, all of Buchanan, GA; brothers, Charles (Gail) Smith of Trotwood, OH, Henry (Hazel) Smith of Carrollton, GA, and Richard (Debbie) Smith of Buchanan GA; brothers-in-laws, William Harris of Buchanan, GA, and Samuel L. (Herliner) Dunson of Trotwood, OH; a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service 11 am Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Corinthian Baptist Church, 700 S. James H. McGee Blvd.  Dayton, OH. Eulogist, Rev. Dr. P.E. Henderson Jr., Pastor. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
