Milton Dewberry Jr., 76, born July 18, 1941 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Milton Sr. and Jessie Dewberry, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 with his family at his side, after a lengthy illness. He resided in Dayton, Ohio for the past 59 years. Milton graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959.
For many years, Milton worked at Miami Valley Hospital, Reynolds and Reynolds, and held other various jobs during his life. He enjoyed walking, visiting with friends, Southern food and Motown music. Milton had a magnetic personality, he always had a smile on his face, joy in his heart and a kind word for everybody which is evident by the number of friends and family who love him dearly.
Preceded in death by Connie Dewberry and Mattie Whitfield; daughter, Bridget Groves; brothers, Marvin and Johnnie; sisters, Johnnie Mae, Joann, Rosa Lee, Elaine and Bertha. Milton leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons, Richard Black, Dennis Dewberry, Milton Black and Meldon Dewberry; daughters, Tonda Dewberry, Idina Cole, Melody Cole-Gates and Inina Dewberry, all of Dayton; sisters, Brenda and Belinda; brothers, Nathaniel, David, Nathan, Jonathan, Irvin and Joseph; 39 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, all of Dayton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, stepchildren and friends.
Funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 8:30 am-1 pm. Family will receive friends 12-1 pm. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery.
