Mary Jane Brown

Mary Jane Evans-Brown, age 88 of Trotwood, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

She was born September 17, 1936, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Daniel and Bertha Hardin.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; two sisters and three brothers.

She was employed by the Dayton Board of Education and retired in 2000. Mary Jane was an active life-long member of Summit Christian church until the time of her illness.

She taught Sunday School, served as President of the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF), a member of the Deborah Group, member of the Usher Board and a Deaconess.

Mary Jane leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jimmy Brown Sr.; three children, Cheryl Johnson, Maurice Evans (Debra) of Dayton, OH, Darryl Evans of San Diego, CA.; two grandsons, Don LaMarr Evans (Velia) of Houston, TX, and Sean Maurice Evans of San Diego CA; five great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Michelle Hummons (Richard), Michael Brown (Mary), Jimmy Brown Jr., (Tyra), Janis Brown; ten step grandchildren; eighteen step great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service 11 am Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Summit Christian Church, 4021 Denlinger Rd., Trotwood, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Shiloh Park Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
