Mae B. Wilkerson was born June 15, 1924, the oldest of six children, to Lucian and Lyda Bradshaw.
Mae graduated from high school in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky after which she relocated to Dayton, Ohio. She married James Wilkerson in 1956. After more than 25 years, Mae retired, at the age of 55, from her role as a computer operator at Gentile Station, a government defense communication agency. She was a lifelong member of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church.
Mae lived 98 fulfilling years with true style and grace. Today, we celebrate her legacy.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents; and stepfather, Luther Guy; husband, James Wilkerson; siblings, Lucian Bradshaw, Pete Bradshaw, Wilnetta Jones, and Reginald Guy Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, sisters, Jean Wickliffe and Sue Goode; sister-in-law, Ruth Guy; nieces, Ada Guy Scruggs, Susan (Charles) Jordan, Robin (Lloyd) Farmer, Lori (Karl) Wyatt, Lois Lynch, Eva Guy-Abdullahi, and Dorothy Guy; nephews, Wayne Bradshaw (devoted caregiver), and Sammy Wickliffe; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Tuesday, August 16, at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, 519 Liscum Dr. Visitation 10-11 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
