Maddie Bell Passmore was born October 10, 1941 in Emanuel County, Georgia to the late Joe and Anna-Sample Passmore. Maddie grew up on her family’s farm, later moving to Newark, NJ for several years and finally making Dayton, Ohio her permanent residence.
Maddie held several jobs in the Dayton area as a dietary cook before retiring from Stillwater Center. She enjoyed playing the lottery, bowling, cooking, traveling, spending time with family, and watching the news, in which she will inform everyone about the weather and current events.
Maddie accepted Jesus Christ at an early age as a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Georgia. She joined New Zion Baptist Church on Christian experience, where she attended faithfully until her unexpected death on Christmas day.
Maddie was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Michael JA Passmore and Adrian D. Days; siblings, Annie Seward, John C. Passmore, Jake Passmore, Joe Clifford, Julia Bady, and Bertha Mae Lofton.
Maddie leaves to cherish her legacy, daughters, Alicia Passmore and Charlotta (William II) Oglesby; son, Shawn Anthony (Letisha) Passmore; grandchildren, Antuan De’Shawn (Brandi) Passmore, Antionique Donyalle Passmore, Paris Shaquay Passmore, Samantha Oglesby, William (Jamesha) Oglesby III; Shaunice (Antoino) Williams; step-grandchildren, Stanford Taylor Jr., Brittany Fate, and Tanisha House; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Randolph (Lena) Passmore of Clio, South Carolina; sister, Leona Boston of Dayton, OH; a host of family, friends, and her church family.
Funeral Service 11 am Saturday, January 10, 2026 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 3426 W. Second St., Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
