LINDA F. RUSSELL, age 70, of Dayton, Ohio, was born on September 26, 1952 to the late James C. and Lucinda Russell. She was the third child from this union and a part of a set of fraternal twins.
From a young age, Linda attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized and a member of the Guild Girls. Linda was known to be an avid reader and story goes, you would always find her somewhere reading a book! Linda was very studious and truly enjoyed listening to different genres of music.
She was a graduate of Nettie Lee Roth High School and went on to attend Bowling Green State University. From there, she began her career with the City of Dayton as a Sanitation Agent for 32 years until her retirement in 2009. Linda enjoyed traveling and helping out where ever she was needed. Linda was there. She often attended the Bridges and Favors family reunion annually and loved spending time with her favorite Aunt “Bootsie” and cousins Joyce, Annette, Gwen and James, to name a few.
Linda was always willing to help out and lend a hand; rather it was with her work at Shiloh as a vacation bible school teacher, Sunday school teacher or a part of the Lydia Circle. She was also a member of the Green Hills Neighborhood Watch Committee. For any of the aforementioned church or neighborhood functions, she may not bring big meals, but she was always there with paper plates, napkins, cutlery and Sprite!
She truly enjoyed spending time with her family; rather that was Thanksgiving and Christmas or Birthday celebrations, especially the children. You would overhear her playing or laughing with them.
Linda departed on August 21, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lucinda Russell; sister, Sharon K. Russell; nephews, Gregory “BJ” Russell, Jevon “CED” Russell, and niece, Christel “Charise” Russell.
Linda leaves to cherish precious memories, her only child whom she loved dearly, daughter Lindsay N. Brandon (Isaac Sr.); 4 grandboys, her G-Babies, Isaac Jr., Levi, Ivan and Luke; twin sister, Brenda Smith (Harold), sister, Antionette Russell, sister, Jasmine Edwards (Mark); brother, Mark Coleman; a copious amount of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins near and far and friends.
