Linda Brown Obituary

BROWN, Linda R., age 57, born January 13, 1963 in Dayton, OH, passed Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital. She graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School where she was active in girls’ basketball, volleyball and track. She also attended Morehead State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Linda was a dedicated employee for over 30 years at WPAFB. During that time, Linda also coached softball and basketball for the Dayton Mohawks, both boys and girls’ program. As well as, Trotwood-Madison Middle /High School basketball where she had three undefeated back to back seasons.

She was a woman of God and an active member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She was a supportive Maw Maw to all of her grandchildren and loved to attend their games and events. Linda was adored by many and met no stranger. She had a genuine and compassionate heart and loved everyone, always offering advice and direction. She took charge of her life, and coached her last game in the perfect way.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Morris G. Brown, Sr.; parents, Laverne and Shirley (Love) Ridley; children, Morris G. Brown Jr., Lakeisha Brown; brother, Vernon Ridley; identical twin sister, Laurie Ridley; mother-in-law, Vernita Brown; father-in-law, Julian Brown of Louisville, KY; brothers-in-law, Derek (Debbie) Shontee, Marcus (Tarri) and Kevin Brown; sisters-in-law, Marsha Brown, Sherri (William) Roberts of Louisville, KY, Beverly (Kim) Malone of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Makayla Brown, Jamier Brown-Walker, Morris G. III, Jamiela, Jamison and Myles C.L. Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, March 21, 2020 at St. Luke M. B. Church, 2262 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 10 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
