Lila Orr Obituary

ORR, Lila, was the oldest daughter among five brothers and three sisters, born December 2, 1924 in Macon, Georgia to the late Milton Mobley and Daisy Horn Mobley.

She was united in marriage November 5, 1943 to Broadus L. Orr, Sr., and to this union was born one son. Lila was blessed to be married for 72 wonderful years. She was the restaurant owner, with her husband, of “The Eskimo Inn”. Her love for the Lord was seen in love for family, church and community.

She was a faithful member of Corinthian Baptist church for over 75 years. She served in the Missionary Society, Ruth Circle for 55 years, was an excellent and dedicated Sunday school teacher for 45 years, a member of Class #23, loyal member of the Senior Saints Ministry, Treasurer of the Dakota Senior Center Golden Age Seniors for 7 years, and inducted into the Ladies over Eighties.

She was an accomplished babysitter for several generations, some 40 years. Her hobbies were making ceramic pottery, sewing, quilting and playing the piano. Every year she read through the Bible completely, three or four times. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23. Lila’s words of wisdom were: “Treat people the way you want to be treated.” “Always trust in the Lord”.

She is survived by her son, Broadus L. Orr Jr. (Rev.
