Lewis Clinton Alston

Lewis Clinton Alston, born June 28, 1933, departed this life on August 29, 2023. He was born to the late George Felton Alston and Ola Mamie Bynum Alston. Lewis served in the United States Army at an early age and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at General Motors until he retired. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church for years serving on the Usher Board.

Preceded in death by his wife Amerteen Alston to whom he was devoted to for 44 years and unto that union they had a son.

He was also preceded in death by 4 sisters, Emily Morgan, Corine Rieves, Paulette Daye and Dorthea Alston; 4 brothers, Hazy Alston, David Alston, Frank Alston, and Fred MacArthur Alston.

He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Timothy Alston; 2 sisters, Debra (Carl) Paige of  Siler City, North Carolina, Bernice (George) Lyons of Manhattan, New York ; 1 brother, James Nicklaus Alston of Dayton, Ohio; 6 stepdaughters,  Dixie Beatrice (Chester) Norman, Elizabeth (Isaac) Dunking, Joe Ann (James) Wingfield, Ammer Teen (Charles) Rogers, Shirley Mae Mitchell and Barbara Jean (David) Figgs ; 1 stepson, Johnny Lee Mitchell; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family of Lewis Clinton Alston would like to take this time to thank everyone for their love and support given during this time.

Funeral service 12 pm Monday, September 11, 2023, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 301 Mia Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Visitation 11 am- 12 pm at which time family will receive friends.  Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
