Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin and loving friend Judy Ann Kenerly sadly passed away on November 7th, 2024, at the age of 77. Judy Ann was born on July 16, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio, where she was a life-long resident. She was preceded in death by her parents Lula Smith (Barnes) and Theodore Daniels, Sr.; sister Jeanne Frye; brother Billy Daniels, step-sister Clarissa Gates, step-brother Henry Patterson; grandson E. Demar Rucker.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her, treasured children Dwight Kenerly, Jr., Rana (Thomas) Fugate, Shawn (Robin) Kenerly; cherished grandchildren, Raven, Gaven, Destini, Devin, Thomas, Christian, and 10 dear great grandchildren; beloved brother Theodore Daniels, Jr.; step-brothers Robert Daniels and Sclain Long; loving sister-in-laws Linda Daniels and Gloria Nelson; favored brother-in-law Robert Frye (who was more like a brother); special cousins Lorretta Brister, Cynthia Brown, Gloria Cooper, Kenneth Daniels Sr., Jerry Daniels, Jerome Kelley, Robert Kelley, Jr., Wanda Paige, Marsha Palmer, Jane Ann Rucker, Minnie (Shane) Terrell; along with a host of adored nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends; special friend Beaulah Thompson.
At the young age of 12 years old, Judy dedicated her life to God, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her loyalty to Him proved evident as she spent the rest of her life upholding God’s standards. She unselfishly spent many hours teaching ones about the Bible. Some of whom became life-long friends.
Judy graduated from Dunbar High School in 1965 and went on to attend Sinclair Community College. She retired as a Caseworker from Montgomery County Job and Family Services.
Judy’s love for her family was top tier. Her happiness was in spending time with them! She was a loving, but firm mother. Her yes was yes, and her no, meant no. She didn’t half-step when it came to disciplining her children. You better have the chores done BEFORE she comes home from work! One of her greatest accomplishments was raising her three children to serve Jehovah (Joshua 24:15). We can smile as we say that it may have been a lot of work, but Judy made it seem effortless. She loved being ‘Ganny/Granny/Grandma Judy’ and ‘Aunt/Cousin Judy’. As all would agree, she was always sweet, kind and welcoming, greeting you with a hug, and an infectious smile. She was everybody’s mom and treated you like one of her own. Judy also loved to cook, sew, watch movies, and eat popcorn. She had a genuine concern for others, loving them more than herself. Her example is surely one to emulate, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing, loving, and learning from her.
