Juanita Milton Johnson was born in Uniontown, Alabama on March 21, 1936 to William Milton Sr. and Amanda Patterson where six children were born of this union. After the passing of her mother at a young age, William married Rebecca Benjamin (Mama Rebecca) who was a loving stepmother. Juanita accepted Christ at an early age and attended Friendship Baptist Church in Uniontown, AL.
After graduating high school, she went to nursing school in Selma, Alabama, where she met and married Willard Johnson, who was an officer in the United States Air Force. From that union they had three daughters. They enjoyed military life, moving to multiple military bases during their marriage.
She later settled in Dayton, Ohio and joined Mount Moriah Baptist Church where she served as an usher many years. She later joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member until her passing. Juanita worked at St Elizabeth Hospital, Winters Bank, Globe Industries, United Way, several nursing homes, and after she retired she volunteered at Grandview Hospital.
She enjoyed reading, bowling, and watching the Bengals and Alabama play football. She loved giving out jolly ranchers to her great grandchildren, and watching them jump on her bed. Above all, she loved her granddaughter’s books.
