Johnny Lee King, age 64, of Dayton, OH, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his residence. He was born on September 22, 1957, the son of Renso and Helen (Carter) King of Youngstown, OH.
He attended Walter E. Stebbins High School in Dayton and served four years in the United States Army. Johnny worked throughout his career doing maintenance, custodian and groundskeeping. He enjoyed working for the Dayton Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
Johnny will be remembered most for his outstanding artistic abilities and craftsmanship; he could draw, build or fix anything! His passion was watching sports in his recreational room. To say that Johnny “loved” sports, would be an understatement. Anyone that knew him knew he did not play about his Miami Dolphins!
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward King; sister, Roberta King.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Theresa L. Woods-King of Dayton; son, Jermaine Neely of Youngstown, OH; daughter, Tynice Johnson of Dayton; sister, Pearlie M. Thomas of Dayton; brother, Lorenzo (Monique) King of Cleveland, OH; eight grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Walk-through visitation 9:30-11:30 am Monday, May 23, at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Funeral service at 11:30 am. (Mask Required). Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
