John C. Swann Jr. passed away on November 4, 2023 in Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his devoted wife Diane (Griggs) Swann, his sons Brian Swann and Eric Swann (Dione), his granddaughter Sarah Swann and grandsons Jason Swann and Jonathan Swann. John also leaves behind his sisters Delores Swann-Hill (Don), Francine Seams and Patricia Swann, aunts Barbara Wooding and Grace Childress (Lorenza), and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly. John was preceded in death by his father John C. Swann, Sr., and mother Virginia (Logan) Swann.

Born on November 12, 1943 in Lewisburg, West Virginia, John was raised in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School in 1961. He continued to higher education, earning both a bachelor's and master's degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in the name of John Swann to the Delta Gamma Lambda Youth & Education Foundation in support of college scholarships. Your contributions will help make a positive impact on the lives of young students, just as John did throughout his lifetime.
