With heavy hearts and deep respect, we announce the passing of John Albert Collier Jr., a proud United States Air Force Veteran, beloved uncle, cherished friend, and guiding light to many. John departed this life on August 13, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of service, strength, and compassion.
Born on February 18, 1952, John answered the call of duty and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 to 1976. His years in service reflected his unwavering commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear. He carried the discipline and dignity of his military years into every chapter of his life, touching countless lives with his quiet courage and generous spirit.
John is survived by his devoted niece Kerri, his dear friends Destinye Elaine and Jerrilyn, and the extended family of Destiny of Hope Foundation, where his presence was source of wisdom, warmth, and inspiration. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him- not only as a veteran, but as a man of integrity, kindness, and enduring grace.
Funeral service 12 pm Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
