Joanne Sheffield

Joanne Sheffield, age 88, was born in Dayton, OH, on March 10, 1936. Joanne departed this life Thursday, January 16, 2025 in Stone Mountain, GA.

She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. Joanne retired as the church secretary of the Collegiate Heights Church of Christ in Dayton. Her favorite hobbies included decorating, caring for plants, and loving on her family. After her husband’s death in 1999, she relocated to Georgia in 2001 to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law, and immediate family. 

Joanne will be dearly missed but is now resting peacefully in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sheffield; son, Charles Jr.; parents, Howard and Jenell Shoecraft; siblings, William, James, twins Wallace and Walter, Iva, Ronald and Clarence.

Her legacy continues through her beloved daughter, Rhonda Lee (Ronald); grandchildren, Nicole Lee (Ignacio), Ryan Power (Dane), Anthony Lee (Brittany); special nephews, Gerard Cottrell and Gary Daniels. Joanne also enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Aria, Kyler and Ellison.

Celebration of Life 11 am Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Stonecrest Church of Christ, 750 Mt. Carmel Road, McDonough, GA. Interment 10 am Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St., Dayton, OH.
