Jerlean “Jeri” Wright, age 77, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. She was born on October 19, 1948, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, to John B. and Delphia Ann (Richards) Reliford. Jeri is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Lucien Wright III. Married on December 9, 1967, they shared 58 years of marriage filled with love, joy, and unwavering devotion.
After 30 years of dedicated service in patient registration, Jeri retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Following her retirement, she proudly worked for her son’s law firm for an additional 20 years. Jeri was a faithful member of Christian Life Center for more than 50 years, where she lived out the extraordinary purpose God placed in her life. She was actively involved in several social organizations, including Carrousels Incorporated and the Red Hat Society. Jeri also had a love for travel, enjoying trips both throughout the United States and abroad with her family.
Jeri was proceeded in death by her father, John B. Reliford, brother, Willie C. Reliford, new born son, David R. Wright and her nephew Caleb Rohadfox.
Jeri is survived by her loving children: Michael (Jennifer) Wright of Dayton, Ohio; Mark (Holly) Wright of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Myra Wright of Dayton, Ohio. She was a devoted Grandma to her cherished grandchildren—Xavier Wright, Tatum Earley, Drew Hoskins, Sienna Wright, and Blake Wright—whom she adored deeply.
She is also survived by her beloved mother, Delphia Ann Reliford of Indiana. Her surviving brothers include: Arthur Reliford of California; Sutton (Margarita) Reliford and Carl Reliford of Indiana; Robert (Virginia) Reliford of Florida; and William (Shari) Reliford of Nebraska. Her surviving sisters include Reather (Clarence) Dawson of Florida; Ardella Reliford of Ohio; and Laverne Reliford, Margie Reliford, and Linda Rodgers all of Indiana.
Jeri also leaves to cherish her memory a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Funeral Service 12 pm Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Phillips Temple Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd., Trotwood, OH. Visitation 10 am- 12 pm. Family will receive friends 11 am- 12 pm. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangement entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
