Jaunita Mae Worthy, age 73, of Dayton, Ohio, born September 28, 1947, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her residence.
She was a remarkable woman; caring, supportive, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was outgoing and loved by many. Her house was where all of her nieces, nephews, and neighboring kids would go.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Harriet Jenkins; brothers, Gerald, Earl and Carl Jenkins; sister, Martha Green.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, James Worthy Sr.; son, James Worthy Jr. (Charlene); daughters, Vickie, Gloria and Toqueeta Worthy; brothers, Donald and Johnny Jenkins; sister, Mary Abrams; grandchildren, David Worthy, Benita Slaughter, Phillip McKnight, Brianna Slaughter, James Worthy III, Leah Ruffin, Kashia Turner, Charniya Worthy, and Corey Taylor; great grandchildren, A’mariá Burney and Damarion Cayson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loving friends.
Walk-through visitation 9-11 am Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Private Service. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
